D’Artagnan 350
A 7 night, fully catered, self guided e-Bike tour of the beautiful Gers countryside, and historic villages & towns to celebrate the 350th anniversary of the death of D’Artagnan.
Charles de Batz, more commonly known as D’Artagnan since Alexander Dumas published “The 3 Musketeers” in 1844 was a real character serving Louis XIV as the Captain of the Musketeers of the Guard. He was born in the village of Lupiac in the hart of the Gers and died in 1673.
This tour starts and ends in Lupiac, covering a total distance of 350 km. The interactive map below details the preliminary route. This may also be viewed via Visorando (link below)
e-Velo Gers will provide the electrically assisted bikes (VAE), accomodation, full support and all meals (except for one lunch in Lectoure).
The inaugural tour is scheduled to begin on 2nd September and finish on 9th September with a total of ten places available. If you are interested in taking part in this all inclusive self guided event, please register your interest by mailing info@evelogers.com or completing the contact form below. When registering interest please advise your level of cycling confidence as the route may be tailored to your abilities as some of the route is along the GR routes, off road. The VAE will take you up all hills without need to sweat; you will be able to become one with your surroundings.
If you travel by car, these may be safely parked at e-Velo Gers premises. Alternatively if you travel by rail or air, a transfer to Lupiac can be organised to keep your trip as sustainable as possible.
